When I was in the deserts of California, an incredible discovery was made: THE DATE SHAKE. The delicacy of the desert. After a hot day at the hot springs, my friends and I needed a refresher, a recharge, something sweet and cold, something that would make our taste buds dance like Joshua Trees. On the side of the road, we saw the light! This little shack promised the “Best Date Shakes in the Desert!”
I ordered an extra extra large and finished that thing SO FAST I thought I was going to tackle the shake I was bringing back for my sister to try. It was like a mirage–I never had a date shake again the rest of the time I was in the desert. Upon landing back home in New York, I was determined to replicate the Date Shake and make it “guiltless”….I hope you enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Coconut Milk
- 1 Cup Coconut Milk Yogurt
- 12 Dates
- 1 Teaspoon Agave
- a generous dash of Cinnamon, Cardamom, and Salt
- 7 Ice Cubes
Instructions
Throw all that into a blender and blend until smooth!
